BTS: Trekking for The Royal Mint

Categories: aerial, products, tv advert, video production

We’ve just finished a challenging week of video production for The Royal Mint.

We showcased as much of the great British landscape as possible, visiting Cumbria, Warwickshire, Swansea and Somerset…. but sorry Scotland, budget and time didn’t allow us to visit, this time!

Cumbria was particularly challenging, with us taking on a six hour trek with over 30kg of equipment to the fabulous Helvellyn mountain in the Lake District. The mountain gave us a stereotypical three-seasons-in-a-day climate, with Spring, Winter and Summer all seemingly making an appearance. So much so that we couldn’t even see Helvellyn’s ridge from 20m away until the clouds parted.

Accompanied by our contributor and interviewee Sian Lewis, our shoots in Swansea and Warwickshire saw us helped by models Freya and Ash and Royal Mint designer David.

The production is for both a TV ad and a series of social films led by interviews. Having shot the majority of the TV ad in 4/5K RAW, we’re all incredibly excited to see the output – and maybe it’ll help our tired legs feel a bit better!
